The Drone X Challenge (DXC) 2020 is an initiative by Krypto Labs. Krypto Labs, the global innovation hub based in Abu Dhabi, has announced the shortlisted teams from Phase II of the Drone X Challenge 2020, and the opening of Phase III. This global US$1.5 million challenge is pushing the frontiers of drone development, focusing on transportation and delivery.

 

The shortlisted teams from Phase II, where applicants were required to develop a viable drone system capable of achieving specific minimum endurance and payload carrying capacities, have automatically qualified to participate in Phase III – the final stage of the challenge, set to award US$1 million in prizes.

 

During the second phase of the challenge, Krypto Labs received a total of 495 applications from 50 countries, with the final shortlist including Weslax. DXC 2020 will support innovative commercial applications/solutions that tackle two major challenges: payload capacity and flight endurance. Weslax is qualified in the category of Hydrocarbon/Hybrid Powered with a minimum payload of 50 kg and minimum endurance of 180 min.
